TRUE INTERACTION: Final Meeting (MADRID, May 23-28, 2011))

1. INTRODUCTION

Itis said that all endings are sad ... and so we felt after the sixth meeting of partnersof our True Interaction Project (Grundtvig action of LLP). Thistook place between 23 and 28 May 2011, corresponding this time to CSI-F EnseñanzaMadrid play asa host.

Atthe previous meeting (Cosenza-Italy-from 19 to 23 March 2011) were proposeddates for the celebration of this last seminar, representing the closing of theproject. However,it was by email and through various Web 2.0 tools as we finalize the dates withthe opinion of all partners and with a transparent vote about two proposals foreducational and cultural visits and sessions of work that were submitted to selectone of them.

Some of theseWeb 2.0 tools used were:

Doodle(www.doodle.com): Allows custom online survey through a link you can accessthose invited. Theresults are stored in the personal account created for this purpose. Thisis a free and available 24 hours through Internet, and shows the evolution of real-timeresults.
Wobook(www.wobook.com) builds electronic books (e-book) immediately with just uploadinga document (in PDF, DOC ...) or images. Itis free and provides a link and / or code "embed" to link to thepublication, or insert it into a website or blog.
GoogleDocs (www.gmail.com) from a GMail account we get access to shared documentsonline and multimedia (text, spreadsheet, presentations and drawings). Manyof the work on the project have been based and supported on this platform ofshared work, which is also free and powerful. Thegenerated links (also code "embed" in some cases) are received by thetarget contacts so they can access read-only mode or editorial.

Usingthat Google Docs technology we created the online forms were used to performthe project evaluation surveys (quality control) at different stages ofdevelopment. Moreover,they also served for the analysis of field research conducted among mothers andadolescent daughters on the occasion of our project.
Arecommendation: Google Docs works much better using the Google browser(Chrome). Itis not so slowing to make work sharing such as Internet Explorer.

SlideShare (www.slideshare.net) portal that allows uploading of slides,documents in various formats (DOC, PDF ...), videos ... which can then beviewed online and showing the link (or "embed” code).
Dropbox (www.dropbox.com) is a store of files andfolders sharing online with your computer and other friends at the same time. Allthe content that is shared is updated in all the computers connected with thefolder shared online in Dropbox. It’s really fantastic. We’ve shared the finalreport to fill in together trough the distance. It’s worked perfectly.

2. CALENDAR, WORKSESSIONS AND VISITS

Some of our membersarrived on Sunday afternoon (May 22). Althougha number of references were provided with comfortable accommodation at goodprices, we also recommended the Residencia de Estudiantes, with whom weoccasionally collaborated in organizing events. Participantsfrom Lithuania and Turkey chosedto stay there, leaving in our hands the management of the reserve. The rest of thegroup chosed different hotels and hostels recommended. Theentire group was highly satisfied with his stay in Madrid.

TheSunday evening was a reception for the first newcomers and share someimpressions as well as some coffee while we showed them the grandeur andmodernity of the Madridmeeting of cultures, history and freedom. OnMonday 23 we organized a visit to the National Library, lunch around Génova St. and thenvisit to the “ABC Serrano” to attend a course in fine dining and wine tastingsponsored by Bodegas Torres. Thiswas the rallying point for all participants. From there, heading on foot to themost traditional Madrid,but first stopping at the viewpoint of the Circle of Fine Arts to contemplatethe majesty of the city from the heights. Wedined at the Plaza Santa Ana and said goodbye until the next day.

OnTuesday (24) initiated a working meeting attended by a person representative ofDG Quality Improvement in Teaching, while also Grundtvig program coordinator inthe Regional Ministry (Gema Pacho), with a practical and pleasant intervention on thecharacteristics of the adolescents in our Community. Inthe afternoon we continued the meeting in the Pale Ale Hall with presentationsby several teenagers and slide show. Afterthe ceremony, we visited the home in the vicinity of one of the organizers ofthe meeting (I. del Rosal), a tradition in this project on all trips. We also hada snack.

Inthe evening the official dinner was planned with all project participants andmembers of the team of CSI-F Enseñanza Madrid.Alsowere given certificates of attendance to our partners, laughing, clapping,songs and a great atmosphere of friendliness.

OnWednesday (25) visited the Prado museum and take a picnic in the gardens ofRetiro. Inthe afternoon we visited the IES San Isidro and its historic and fascinating museumof the hand of the deputy F. Burgueño.

Thenext day (Thursday, 26) we left by coach at 8.30H am to IES Severo Ochoa (Alcobendas). Weparticipate in daily classes of English bilingual section dividing the group sothat each party was in a classroom with the teacher concerned. Studentsshowed much interest and there was a long feedback from everyone. Wealso visited the staff room and there was time for all questions and comments.

At11.30H AM we left to Buitrago de Lozoya, where the mayor welcomed us andprovided all sorts of explanations about the municipality. Afterthat, we visited the Picasso museum in the town (excellent, original, cute andunique in the world) and head towards Cervera de Buitrago for tasting on thebanks of swamp Atazar a paella seasoned with the smell of blooming rockrose,captivating the rays of the sun between the arrogant and condescending majesticwalls of the Sierra del Rincón.

OnFriday, 27 attended the presentation of the CRIF Las Acacias teacher trainingprogram in the CM. Abrilliant end for a final meeting of a project that leaves a lot of nostalgiaamong those who have lived through this deep experience.

3. RESULTS.PRODUCTS

4. CONCLUSIONS

Webelieve that the project carried out has fulfilled all our expectations. Thebest thing we've had the opportunity to meet many professionals teaching inother European countries and see for ourselves what are their ways of workingthere, what problems they face, how to solve them, what differences exist inthe forms and inthe content when teaching students, how is their level of life ... And in thecase of our project, what their concerns are and if there are significantlydifferences between the teenagers and mothers of all the participants countries.

Quitea few goals pursued by the European Commission with the operation of theseprograms. However,it is easy to reach a conclusion after participating in European projects, oneof the primary objectives is to eliminate identity barriers. Weare European citizens and we are building Europefrom scratch with these programs. Perhapsthis is one of those circumstances in which the contents are not important. Thecamaraderie developed between the different participants from various countriesin this project is paramount. Iam convinced that, at bottom, the maximum value of these projects is achievedwhen one overcomes the barrier of fellowship and open the doors of friendship. That is the true spiritof European construction. Inthe final analysis, the methodological differences in teaching practices intheir application or behaviors of teachers, teenage daughters and mothers donot differ much from one country to another.

Oncethe project is finished I feel nostalgia for what we have done, seen and heard,but it saddens me even more not being able to relate so easily with thesecolleagues I leave behind. However,my lungs pride swells when I think what has been achieved, as though leftbehind as partners, now part of the group of my best friends. Fromthese lines I send a big hug to my friends in Austria (Gudrun, Christin ...),Finland (Tuija, Kari, Ilari, Sari ...), Italy (Katia, Rosa, Giovanna ...),Lithuania (Vilma ...), Romania ( Carmen,Konstantin ...), Turkey (Gülsen, Zeynel, Ibrahim, Bunyamin, Amed, Sherkan, Aysa...). Likewise,I also want to thank the DG for Improving Quality of Teaching its collaborationto Madrid meeting was a success, to colleagues of CSI-F Enseñanza Madrid their supportand understanding, and to all those who have contributed their selflessassistance to this project come to fruition: Macu, Javier, Lilanne, Inma, Mónica,Rosa, Claudia, Jesus, Fco. TRUE INTERACTION: Reunión final (MADRID)

1. INTRODUCCIÓN

Se dice que todos los finales son tristes…, y asínos sentimos tras la sexta reunión de socios de nuestro proyecto True Interaction (acciónGrundtvig del PAP). Ésta tuvo lugar entre el 23 y el 28 de mayo de 2011,correspondiéndole a CSI-F Enseñanza Madrid en esta ocasión hacer de anfitrión.

En la anterior reunión (Cosenza –Italia- del 19 al23 de marzo de 2011) propusimos unas fechas para la celebración de este últimoseminario, que representaba el cierre del proyecto. Sin embargo, fue por correoelectrónico y mediante varias herramientas de la Web 2.0 como pudimos concretarlas fechas entre todos los socios y consensuar por votación transparente laspropuestas de trabajo y de visitas didácticas y culturales que se iban aorganizar.

Algunas de estas herramientas Web 2.0 utilizadasfueron:

- Doodle (www.doodle.com): permite realizar encuestasen línea personalizadas a través de un enlace al que pueden acceder laspersonas invitadas. Los resultados quedan almacenados en la cuenta personalcreada a tal efecto. Se trata de una herramienta gratuita y disponible las 24horas a través de Internet que muestra la evolución de los resultados en tiemporeal.

- Wobook (www.wobook.com): construye libroselectrónicos (e-book) de forma inmediata con sólo subir un documento (en PDF,DOC…) o imágenes. Es gratuita y proporciona un enlace y/o un código “embed”para enlazar a la publicación oinsertarla en un blog o web.

- Google Docs (www.gmail.com): desde una cuenta de GMail setiene acceso a documentos compartidos en línea y multimedia (texto, hoja decálculo, presentaciones y dibujos). Muchos de los trabajos realizados en elproyecto han estado basados y soportados en esta plataforma de trabajocompartido, que es también es gratuita y de gran potencia. Los enlacesgenerados (también códigos “embed” en algunos casos) son recibidos por loscontactos de destino para que puedan acceder en modo de sólo lectura o deedición.

Utilizando latecnología de Google Docs se crearon formularios en línea que sirvieron pararealizar las encuestas de evaluación del proyecto (control de calidad) endiferentes fases de desarrollo. Asimismo, también sirvieron para los análisisde campo en la investigación llevada a cabo entre madres e hijas adolescentescon motivo de nuestro proyecto.

Unarecomendación: Google Docs funciona mucho mejor usando el navegador de Google(Chrome). Con él no existe ralentización al hacer trabajo compartido, tal comoocurre con Internet Explorer.

- SlideShare (www.slideshare.net): portal que permitela subida de archivos de diapositivas, documentos en varios formatos (DOC,PDF…), vídeos… que luego se pueden consultar en línea sumnistrando el enlace(y/o código “embed”).

2. CALENDARIO,SESIONES DE TRABAJO Y VISITAS

Algunos de nuestros socios llegaron el domingo 22por la tarde. Aunque proporcionamos una serie de referencias de alojamientosconfortables y a buen precio, también les recomendamos la Residencia deEstudiantes, con la que colaboramos ocasionalmente en la organización deeventos. Los participantes de Lituania y de Turquía prefirieron alojarse allídejando en nuestras manos las gestiones de la reserva. El resto eligierondiferentes hoteles y hostales de los recomendados. Todo el grupo quedó altamentesatisfecho de su estancia en Madrid.

El domingo por la tarde recepcionamos a losprimeros recién llegados y compartimos algunas impresiones, así como algún cafémientras les mostrábamos la grandeza y modernidad de este Madrid, encuentro deculturas, historia y libertad. El lunes 23 organizamos una visita oficial a laBiblioteca Nacional, comida en los alrededores de la calle Génova y nuevavisita al centro ABC Serrano para asistir a un curso de alta cocina y catapatrocinado por Bodegas Torres. Éste era el punto de reunión para todos losparticipantes para, desde allí, dirigirnos a pie hacia el Madrid más castizo,eso sí, previa parada en el mirador del Círculo de Bellas Artes para contemplarla majestuosidad de la ciudad desde las alturas. Cenamos en la Plaza Santa Anay nos despedimos hasta el día siguiente.

El martes (24) iniciamos una reunión de trabajo ala que asistió una persona representante de la DG de Mejora de la Calidad en laEnseñanza, al tiempo también coordinadora del programa Grundtvig en laConsejería (Gema Pacho), con una intervención práctica y amena sobre lascaracterísticas de las adolescentes en nuestra Comunidad. Por la tardecontinuamos la reunión en la Sale Pale Ale con ponencias de varias adolescentesy proyección de diapositivas. Finalizado el acto, tomamos un aperitivovisitando el domicilio en las proximidades de uno de los organizadores de lareunión (I. del Rosal), ya tradición en este proyecto en todos los viajes.

Por la noche estaba prevista la cena oficial contodos los participantes del proyecto y los miembros del equipo de CSI-FEnseñanza Madrid. Igualmente, se entregaron los certificados de asistencia anuestros socios entre risas, aplausos, canciones y una gran atmósfera decordialidad.

El miércoles (25) visitamos el museo de El Prado ytomamos un picnic en los jardines del Retiro. Por la tarde visitamos el IES SanIsidro y su histórico y fascinante museo de la mano del Jefe de Estudios (F.Burgueño).

Al día siguiente (jueves, 26) partimos en autocar alas 8,30H de la mañana hacia el IES Severo Ochoa (Alcobendas). Participamos enlas clases cotidianas de la sección bilingüe de inglés dividiendo al grupo demodo que cada parte fuera a un aula con la profesora correspondiente. Losalumnos mostraron mucho interés y hubo un largo feedback entre todos. También visitamos la sala de profesores yhubo tiempo para todo tipo de preguntas y de comentarios.

Sobre las 11,30H nos dirigimos hacia Buitrago deLozoya, donde el alcalde nos recibió y facilitó todo tipo de explicacionesacerca del municipio. Tras ello, visitamos el museo Picasso de la localidad(excelente, original, coqueto y único en el mundo) y partimos hacia Cervera deBuitrago para la degustación en las orillas del pantano del Atazar de unapaella aderezada con el olor de la jara en flor, cautivadora de los rayos de unSol soberbio y condescendiente entre las majestuosas paredes de la Sierra delRincón.

El viernes 27 asistimos a la presentación en elCRIF de Las Acacias del programa de formación del profesorado en la CM. Uncierre brillante para una reunión final de proyecto que deja mucha nostalgiaentre todos los que hemos vivido intensamente esta experiencia.

3. RESULTADOS.PRODUCTOS

4. CONCLUSIONES

Consideramos que el proyecto llevado a cabo hacumplido todas nuestras expectativas. Lo mejor, que hemos tenido la oportunidadde conocer a muchos profesionales de la enseñanza en otros países europeos yver por nosotros mismos cuáles son sus formas de trabajo allí, a qué problemasse enfrentan, cómo los solucionan, qué diferencias existen en las formas y enlos contenidos a la hora de enseñar a los alumnos, cómo es su nivel de vida… Yen el caso concreto de nuestro proyecto, qué inquietudes tienen susadolescentes y si existen grandes diferencias respecto de las nuestras, orespecto de las madres.

Son bastantes los objetivos que persigue laComisión Europea con la puesta en funcionamiento de estos programas. Sinembargo, es fácil llegar a una conclusión tras haber participado en proyectoseuropeos: uno de los objetivos más primordiales es la eliminación de barrerasidentitarias. Somos ciudadanos europeos y con estos programas estamosconstruyendo Europa desde los cimientos. Tal vez ésta sea una de esascircunstancias en las que los contenidos no son lo más importante. Elcompañerismo desarrollado entre los diferentes participantes de varios paísesen este proyecto es lo primordial. Estoy convencido de que, en el fondo, elmáximo valor de estos proyectos se alcanza cuando se supera la barrera delcompañerismo y se abren las puertas de la amistad. Ése es el verdadero espíritude la construcción europea. Al fin y al cabo, las diferencias metodológicas enla enseñanza, las prácticas en su aplicación o los comportamientos deprofesores, hijas adolescentes o madres no difieren tanto de un país a otro.

Una vez el proyecto ha finalizado siento nostalgia detodo lo que hemos hecho, visto y oído, pero me entristece aún más el no poderrelacionarme tan fácilmente con estos compañeros que dejo atrás. No obstante,el orgullo hincha mis pulmones cuando pienso en lo conseguido, ya que si bienquedaron atrás como compañeros, ahora forman parte del grupo de mis mejoresamigos. Desde estas líneas quiero enviarles un fuerte abrazo a mis amigos de Austria(Gudrun, Christin…), Finlandia (Tuija, Kari, Ilari, Sari…), Italia (Katia,Rosa, Giovanna…), Lituania (Vilma…), Rumania (Carmen, Konstantin…), Turquía(Gülsen, Zeynel, Ibrahim, Bunyamin, Amed, Sherkan, Aysa…). Igualmente, tambiénquiero agradecer a la DG de Mejora de la Calidad de la Enseñanza sucolaboración para que la reunión de Madrid fuera un éxito; a los compañeros deCSI-F Enseñanza Madrid su apoyo y comprensión, y a todas aquéllas personas quehan contribuido con su ayuda desinteresada a que este proyecto llegara a buenfin: Macu, Javier, Lilanne, Inma, Mónica, Rosa, Claudia, Jesús, Marta (Pale Ale),Gema Pacho (DGMCE), F. Lithuanian group of Mothers and Daughters from the Grundtvig partnership „True Interaction” had their final meeting in Panevezys, that was designed to evaluate the activities of the Partnership.
Local Project activities and the Project visits were reviewed; participants shared their impressions with others, discussed and evaluated the experience gained in the Project.
Mothers and daughters gave feedback about the competences that they had strengthen while took part in the Project activities, they appreciated the possibility to spend more time together in educative background of the Project and learn about one another more than it is possible being at home. Mothers who took part in the mobilities shared their experience and highlighted that communication is crucial factor for the better interaction with daughters in the family, or with foreign partners in the learning partnership, and almost all were encouraged to continue studying or practicing foreign language skills.

At the end of the meeting the director of Teachers’ Centre handed the certificates of participation in the Project activities to the girls and their mothers.

Family Camp
In 15th of May,2011 , a camp which all participants and Project workers attended was realized.

The information (on the subjects of pitching a tent, lighting a fire, wild and dangerous animals, camping safety and personal security ,etc.) about scouting was given by Bülent Adil who is a guide scout teacher .
Also, it was pravided that the participants had a colourful day with games such as towing rope,the competition of carrying an egg with a spoon, etc.

PUBLICACIONES RELACIONADAS EN NÚMEROS ANTERIORES

Nuestro proyecto Grundtvig de Asociaciones de Aprendizaje va llegando a su fin. Con esta quinta reunión cerramos las últimas movilidades para completar las 12 que estaban comprometidas en el proyecto. La siguiente reunión será en Madrid, del 23 al 27 de mayo. Nosotros seremos los organizadores y nos corresponderá hacer de anfitriones de nuestros socios, ahora ya amigos.

Rende es una población adosada a Cosenza (en plena Calabria italiana), sede de nuestro socio Euroform. Para esta reunión nos habíamos comprometido a aportar una serie de tareas que ya habíamos distribuido previamente en la anterior reunión de Onesti (Rumania). Entre ellas figuraba el recuento de las respuestas de unos nuevos formularios (que se pueden consultar en línea) orientados a conocer la información que reciben de sus madres las adolescentes sobre cuestiones sexuales, asimismo como la actitud de ambas frente a este tipo de preguntas. Igualmente, también estaban comprometidas algunas otras tareas encargadas individualmente a cada socio, o conjuntamente entre dos o tres a la vez a modo de trabajo colaborativo. En algún caso, cada socio debía presentar varios poemas creados por las madres o por sus hijas adolescentes, en algún otro se trataba de diseñar un código de buenas maneras para que las hijas se relacionen con sus madres. Este código se ha consensuado entre las madres participantes en el proyecto y dos socios, Lituania-España y Turquía- Rumania.

Algunos socios también se habían comprometido a organizar cursos de formación dirigidos a las madres y a sus hijas adolescentes en temas de salud, comportamiento, alimentación… (Rumania, Lituania, España), o conferencias sobre cuestiones relacionadas con el sexo (Rumania, Finlandia, Italia), o bien talleres de actividades conjuntas para las madres y sus hijas (Turquía).

Una nueva actividad que propusimos desde Madrid para presentar en esta reunión, que fue muy bien acogida por nuestros socios, fue la de crear una exposición de avatares con las imágenes en primer plano de cada madre y de su hija adolescente. Llevamos algunos carteles de una exposición ya operativa que organiza un grupo de artistas a través de la red Ning, con soporte de la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid y de Universia –http://arteweb.ning.com/-, y causaron un buen impacto. Todos nuestros socios se mostraron interesados en participar enviándonos las imágenes en breve para que las podamos acomodar a las características de la exposición, que esperamos poder presentar en la última reunión de socios en nuestra Sede.

Como tema final, acordamos otra serie de actividades enfocadas a preparar la reunión de cierre de proyecto en Madrid. Entre ellas, destacamos la puesta en línea de los últimos cuestionarios relacionados con la información sexual que facilitan las madres a sus hijas, con todas las preguntas traducidas a los idiomas de los socios y al inglés. De esta manera, esperamos obtener una información accesible ubicada en un mismo lugar, de forma que los resultados se encuentren en abierto y sean accesibles a cualquier persona interesada. Consideramos que puede ser de gran interés como investigación de campo, dado que los cuestionarios son de respuesta anónima y se pueden responder desde cualquier navegador conectado a Internet. Sólo hay que identificar el país de procedencia y responder a las preguntas planteadas, tanto por parte de las madres como de las hijas, en dos cuestionarios independientes.

Todos estos resultados serán debatidos y consensuados en esta última reunión de Madrid antes de proceder a la publicación definitiva, que esperamos que sea en formato digital (en línea), y también impresa en papel como parte de los productos finales generados en este proyecto Grundtvig.

Como en otras ocasiones, esta reunión también sirvió para conocer parte de la cultura italiana en esta zona tan al Sur del país. Visitamos varias poblaciones costeras y disfrutamos de unos paisajes montañosos que iban languideciendo poco a poco hasta fundirse en un ardiente beso con el Mare Nostrum.

En el viaje de regreso, todavía tuvimos ánimos de echar unas horas en Roma y visitar algunos de los monumentos más famosos de esta ciudad imperial romana: pasamos por el Coliseum, pero también nos dio tiempo a echar una moneda y pensar en un deseo junto a la Fontana de Trevi (por cierto, que el mío se cumplió) y, por supuesto, tampoco dejamos atrás el Vaticano.

Otro viaje inolvidable, tanto por los contenidos, experiencias, recuerdos… como por los medios empleados para llegar a destino y regresar a casa, ya que nos dejaron extremadamente cansados y exhaustos (dos aviones, tren, taxi, metro…), pero con el siempre exquisito sabor en boca que les queda a aquéllos viajeros que saben deshacer una roca de granito y convertirla en un terrón de azúcar. ¡Oh, dulce sabor…!

Our Grundtvig Learning Partnership project is coming to an end. With this fifth meeting closed the last mobility to complete the 12 who were involved in the project. The next meeting will be in Madrid from 23 to 27 May. We will be the organizers as hosting partners, but also friends now.

Rende is a village attached to Cosenza (Calabria - Italy), where is our partner Euroform. For this meeting we had committed to contribute a series of tasks that we had previously distributed at the fourth meeting in Onesti (Romania). These included the counting of the responses of new forms (which can be found online) designed to release the information girls receive from their mothers about sex, and also about the attitude of both in front of these questions. Also, we were also committed some other tasks assigned to each member individually, or jointly by two or three at once by way of collaborative working. In some cases, each partner must submit several poems created by the mothers or their teenage daughters, in another it was to design a code of good ways for girls to connect with their mothers. This code has been agreed between the mothers in the project and two partners, Lithuania-Spain and Turkey-Romania.

Some members had also undertaken to organize training courses for mothers and their teenage daughters about health, behavior, food ... (Romania, Lithuania, Spain), or conferences on issues related to sex (Romania, Finland, Italy ) or joint workshops for mothers and daughters (Turkey).

A new activity proposed from Madrid was presented at this meeting, which was very well received by our partners. It was to create avatars with an exhibition of images on top of each mother and her teenage daughter. We showed some pictures and images from a group of artists over Ning network, with support from the Autonomous University of Madrid and Universia (http://arteweb.ning.com/, who are the promoters of the idea. This activity caused a good impact among aour partners. All of them were interested in participating by sending the pictures soon so that we can accommodate the features of the exhibition. We hope to present it at the last meeting of partners (Madrid) in an exhibition room.

As a final matter, we agree to another series of activities aimed to prepare the project closure meeting in Madrid. Among them, put online in the last questionnaires related to sexual information that facilitate mothers to their daughters, with all questions translated into partner languages and English. Thus, we expect to obtain accessible information located in one place, so that the results are in open and accessible to anyone interested. We believe it may be of great interest as field research, since the response questionnaires are anonymous and can be answered from any browser connected to the Internet. Simply identify the country of origin and respond to questions raised by both the mothers and daughters, in two separate questionnaires.

All these results will be discussed and agreed at the last meeting in Madrid prior to final publication, we hope to be in digital format (online), and also printed on paper as part of the final products generated in this Grundtvig project.

As on other occasions, this meeting also served to know part of Italian culture in this area as far south of the country. We visited several towns and enjoy mountain landscapes which were languishing gradually to merge into a passionate kiss with the Mare Nostrum.

On the return trip, we still had courage to take a few hours in Rome and visit some of the most famous monuments of the Roman imperial city, we passed the Coliseum, but also gave us time to throw a coin and think of a wish with Trevi Fountain (by the way, mine was fulfilled) and, of course, also leave behind the Vatican.

Another memorable trip, both for the content, experiences, memories ... and the means used to arrive at our destination and return back home. It left us very tired and exhausted (two aircraft, train, taxi, metro ...) but with always exquisite taste in mouth that remains for those travelers who can undo a granite rock and turn it into a lump of sugar. Oh, sweet taste ...!

On the 1st of April the seminar "Communication between mother and daughter" was held at "Petru Poni" Technical College. There were discussions about the preventive aproach and the presure parents put on their adolescent daughters while selecting their friends.

Informative gathering about the necessary suport that should be given by mothers to the adolescent daughters were made.

Within the framework of Mother-Daughter True Interaction Project a course on communication within the family was arranged as two groups ,each of the groups included 30 persons , except for our participants .
A course completion certificate was given each of the participants related to the training that they had received.
It was tried to have been reached the goals below within the framework of general goals of Family Training Course Programme.

1. It was tried to strengthen the family ties that is the basic building structure of society with national, spiritual, moral and cultural values by improving the quality of relationships and communication within the family.
2. In order to support the developmental characteristics and developmental areas (physical, mental, linguistic, social and emotional ) in all age ranges, activities were introduced and some of them were realized.
3. Developing relationships within the family in terms of quality, a discussion was held for providing support to the children personally,socially,emotionally and academically.
4. Parents were informed about the development of the quality of their individual life by getting them to gain effective communication skills.
5. "Domestic Democracy" examples were presented for the development of consciousness by ensuring that in their relations with themselves and their children, in their roles within the family and decision making process,parents were in an approach which did not make gender discrimination,which was equitable and participatory .
6. Enabling the parents to recognize the emotional and behavioral effects of the risk factors over themselves and their children, the information of developing the skills of coping with risky situations was presented.
7. It was tried that the parents gained the skills of managing possible conflictual relations which might be experienced within the family.
8. What can be done for women’s empowerment, ensuring safe motherhood and increasing the support of father in the family education was discussed.

Course of Applied Arts

A course of applied arts for a group of mothers and daughters was held in Teachers’ Educational Center of Panevėžys District (Lithuania) at the end of the year 2010. Participants of the project of True Interaction expressed their willingness to learn some decoration techniques and chose a decoupage to learn.

Mrs. Viktorija together with her daughter Gerda agreed to share their good practice of decorating housewares and ornamentation.

Jewellery boxes, photo frames, Christmas decorations were taken as an objects for decoupage. Mothers together with their girls decided what object to choose for decoration, agreed on the patterns, colours and ornaments. It was a process of collaboration that at the end gave beautiful results of their mutual work.

Model Aircraft Course

The Model Aircraft Course has been completed.

The Model Aircraft Course which was organized with the cooperation of Turkish Air Agency within the context of " Mother- Adolesence Interaction" Project between January 8th,2011 and January 29th,2011 was completed. It was held in total 20 hours and it was given by Zeynel SATILMIŞ, the assistant manager of Tosya Public Education Center.

The aircraft materials were supplied by Turkish Air Agency and equipments were supplied by Tosya Public Education Center.

ATA Model Aircraft construction that is the basic level in the construction of model aircraft was realized .

Firstly, the trainees separated the linden sheet parts which were cut by laser with the help of a utility knife,fastened the profiles to attack,trailing and the longeron strips with glue and by placing triangular pieces of support, they completed the wing frame.

They covered the frames with paper by completing the frames of rising and turning rudders using the same method.After drying and tightening ,they pasted the paper plates that was heated on the aircraft body strip which was attached to the plastic body and they completed the montage of the parts with the help of rubber bands.

By controlling the center of gravity and putting enough small shot to the bile slot ,they learned to provide the balance of the aircraft according to the balancing method shown by their trainers.

At the end, they tested their aircrafts all together in the garden of Public Education Center

Cake Activity

"Making A Cake" activity was organized within the context of Mother and Daughter Interaction which is a EU Grundvig project .

"Making A Cake " Activity was realized with traditional tastes and modern recipes in this work which was held at Tosya Public Education Center at the weekends.

On the one hand mothers taught how to make products having traditional tastes ,on the other hand daughters tried to make new cakes and pastries recipes which they found in various web sites with their mothers.

In this activity, both the progress was tried to be achieved to enhance the interaction of mother and daughter and daughters experienced the happiness of sharing and making something together with their other girl friends .

Furthermore,the trainees who will take part in the "the Model Aircraft Course " activity ,which will be realized between 29th January and 1st February ,2011 , were determined.

Our Women’s Hair Care and Styling Course Has Finished

Our Hair Care and Styling Course which began at the beginning of November and we arranged only at the weekends within the context of our Grundvig Project we have been carrying out and the subject of which is Mother-Daughter Interaction has finished.
The course arranged as groups of 10 persons including 5 mothers and 5 daughters.During the course process , mothers and daughters have gained the skills of preparing the hair for the processions which will be done,drying it,cutting hair, coloring ( deco,dye,highlights,etc.), hair care , hair shaping and giving hair a permanent form (defrize,perm,etc.) and the usage of these skills by themselves and for each other.

Moreover,by learning to use effectively the basic principles related to hair care, cleanliness and hygiene rules, hairdressing equipment (buckles, clips, brushes, scissors, blow dryer), apparatus and equipment ,mothers applied their first practices on their daughter’s hair, daughters applied their first practices on their mother’s hair.
Besides hair care, they learnt the ropes of skin care and make-up.

The first word each of us has ever uttered is “Mom”. She is the one who gave us life, and guided our first steps. That is why she is the most important person in our life.
A mother’s presence is very important for a child’s personality evolution. She helps us to improve our quality and teaches us how to make a difference between what is right and what is wrong.
She is the one who was next to us in every moment of our childhood, teenage and that is why she is a friend you can trust, a person who knows you the best and to whom you can tell all your problems. With your mother next to you, you can be sure that all your problems will disappear.
That is why a mother is always the most important person for each of us, a model and a guide in our lives.

Sometimes we need a person to be next to us and help us in a certain problem, and generally we try to find help in a friend, a classmate, without thinking that there is a person who is always interested in the problems we have and who would do anything to help us. We fail to see that the person who would be most appropriate to offer help is right there, next to us.
We might notice, if we are very attentive, that our mother’s eyes are always following us, that they smile if we are happy, that they are concerned if we have a problem, and they are worried whenever we are in trouble. Her eyes are the mirror we could look at every day, and we could see support there, because she is always next to us, willing to sacrifice everything for our wellness.
She may be tired sometimes, but this will never be noticed in her eyes, if we are there because she finds happiness in our simple presence.
So, if you ever need support, just look for your mother’s eyes! She will give you all her power and support.

A CHILD WITHOUT A MOTHER

Can you imagine your life if your mother hadn’t been there for you? Can you imagine your childhood without your mother’s smile, stories and advice?
A child without his mother cannot ever be happy, even if he smiles or laughs at some point… His soul will always cry because he feels the coldness around him, even if the atmosphere can be very warm. That child will always feel that something is missing because he doesn’t have another soul to tremble, cry, suffer, smile, or be happy together with him.
That child might smile during the day, but will always weep in the evening when going to bed, because he cannot feel his mother next to him, he cannot listen to her stories or receive a kiss from the most important person in his life.
If you have your mother close to you don’t forget to tell her how much you love her, she might go away one day…

WHAT IS A MOTHER?

Mother: a word that everyone knows, everyone uses, without ever thinking what the hidden meaning of the word is.
What is a mother, then? She is the persons who gave birth to you. She is the one who taught you everything from the very beginning. She taught you how to smile, to talk, to walk, to play, to be happy.
Mother is the person who was there next to you whenever you were sick, without thinking about her sleep, but just thinking about your health. She is the one who suffered first if you hurt a leg, and the one who was the happiest when you knew your poem for kindergarten.
She is the person who guides you when going to school, learn with you if you cannot understand something, and be proud when you succeed. She is the person who best understands your feeling, even when you meet a boy, and she will always give you good advice to follow.
Once you are a grown up, your mother is still there to help you, she is there to listen to you, and help you if you need it. Even is she is now old and maybe a grandma, she is still your mother, and in her eyes you will always remain the small child needing help and guidance.

MOTHER

I don’t remember everything about my childhood, but I remember that my mother was always next to me when I needed it. She used to read me stories when going to sleep, and we used to have many games during the day.
I remember that she would teach me new words, and correct me when I couldn’t say something. We used to do a lot of things together. She even pretended to let me cook with her, and now I know she was doing the entire job, but at that time I was sure I was a great cook. But she had so much patience with me that sometimes I wonder how she could manage. She never seemed tired although I know that she was going to work, cook, clean, go shopping, but she always had time for me. We were most of the times together and most of the times I wanted to play, and she never said no. I wonder sometimes if mothers have superpowers when it comes for their children when I think of my mother when I was very young.
Now, my mother is still the same and she is my best friend. I talk to her whenever I have a problem, and I always ask her for advice. She seems to know the answers to all my questions. Sometimes I think it is unbelievable.
I am sure that if everyone thinks about his mother he would say the same thing, but I am also sure that I have the best mother of all.

I know that I wasn't the best child and that in many occasions I made your heart small like a flea. Also I know that many times in my childhood I made you laugh, today even if we know that I grew up and even if I promised, your heart will not suffer because of me, you all will continue to worry and to pray for me and that because GOD chose you to guide me and help me get over all the difficult moments.
And I want to thank you because you broke pieces of your heart so many times to implant in your child's heart to have a part of you wherever he goes.
Mother without you I am nothing. I may be eager to grow, but hopeless because I'm alone in the world.

Finnish Mothers and Daughters & Spanish kitchen

Sastamalan Opisto (Sastamala Community College) Teacher Ms Merja Musakka comments the course in Spanish as follows:

Un día oscuro de octubre nos reunimos para hacer comida española. Queríamos hacer comida típica española que también sería bastante fácil hacer en casa.
Tortilla es un ejemplo de las comidas fáciles y baratos, solamente hace falta patatas, cebolla y huevos. Probamos también aceitunas verdes y negros.
El azafán es una especia que normalmente no usamos aquí, pero da buen sabor a la paella.
De postre hicimos flan, la postre más típica de España. No nos pareció muy fácil hacerlo, pero la práctica hace el maestro…..y lo podemos probar en casa más tarde.
Mientras comimos, conversamos de muchas cosas que son importantes para nosotros y fue muy interesante oir opiniones diferentes. Fue una experiencia buena para nosotras.

Teachers’ Educational Center of Panevėžys District arranged activities where basics of dance was presented for participants of True Interaction project in October.

The aim of the lessons was to give an examples for mothers and daughters of how they can implement the practice of expressing themselves through the arts, especially through movement of dance.

Teacher of dancing, Mrs. Rasa, taught participants how to feel the rhythm and melody. She created situations for participants where they could find out their personal space of comfort and also taught how to express different emotions and feelings through the movement of dance.

Participants learned that dance and movement can be used to depict meaning, to retrieve the emotional balance and create an effective background of interaction.

On the 23rd of november there has been a seminar on the theme on the relationship between boys and girl at teenage at "Petru Poni" Technical College. Besides the girls involved in the project, other students in our school have also participated in the seminar.

The themes approached within the seminar:

-communication girls-boys;

-sexual education;

-contraceptive methods.

The seminar has been realised with the NGO "Together on the life way"

Rapporto sull'andamento e sui risultati del corso 'äidit ja tyttäret kokkaa' presso la scuola di Sastamala.

Il corso si è svolto in due lezioni.

La prima lezione si è svolta inanzitutto con una presentazione sulla cultura culinaria italiana, fondata essenzialmente sull’opportuno accostamento di pochi ingredienti di qualità, nonchè sulla cultura del cibo come momento sociale e di condivisione. La cultura italiana del cibo si fonda sul piacere di stare assieme e di socializzare, discutere e condividere le proprie idee con gli altri. Successivamente abbiamo imparato a preparare la ‘carne alla pizzaiola’, piatto di origine siciliana. In Sicilia si mangia particolarmente bene, tanto che i siciliani che si recano nell’Italia del nord spesso possono lamentare una qualità del cibo e del suo gusto inferiore alla propria. La carne alla pizzaiola viene preparata in una teglia e cotta nel forno. Nella teglia si pone per prima cosa uno strato di patate tagliate sottili e condite con olio extra vergine di oliva. In secondo luogo si pone un altro strato costituito da fettine di manzo passate prima nel pane grattugiato. Il tutto viene guarnito con pomodoro, funghi, origano e mozzarella. E ancora uno goccetto di olio. Le patate si preferisce cuocerle prima a parte per una ventina di minuti, perchè richiedono un tempo di cottura maggiore rispetto alla carne. La mozzarella si mette alla fine perchè deve soltanto sciogliersi.

Ho potuto notare, nel gruppo di partecipanti, una netta differenza di comportamento dei genitori rispetto alle ragazze. Le mamme hanno partecipato con molto interesse e molta espressività, dando anche suggerimenti e discutendo sulle modalità di preparazione. Le ragazze al contrario, hanno mostrato più che altro il loro interesse in senso concreto, partecipando attivamente alla preparazione ma comunicando silenziosamente. Conoscendo la cultura finlandese, si capisce la comunicazione silenziosa dove i giovani specialmente non vengono incitati a comunicare e a interagira con gli adulti da pari a pari. Tuttavia, in un corso di questo tipo, partecipare, chiedere, socializzare con gli altri partecipanti non solo è accettato poichè siamo tutti lì per quel motivo, ma è anche consigliabile e molto bello e da vita all’evento. Nella cultura italiana, far vedere agli altri che si apprezza il loro lavoro o comunque comunicare la propria soddisfazione, i propri sentimenti relativamente alla vita assieme, è segno di rispetto e apprezzamento verso le altre persone.

Infatti ho particolarmente apprezzato un commento da parte di una partecipante, la quale ha manifestato gradimento per il piatto preparato, nonostante al momento della preparazione non pensava potesse venire così buono.

In occasione della seconda lezione abbiamo imparato a preparare la pasta fresca all’uovo. Abbiamo scelto di realizzare dei ‘maltagliati ai funghi porcini’, questi ultimi portati provvidenzialmente dalle partecipanti.

La preparazione della pasta è stata effettuata utilizzando un uovo per persona e farina di semola di grano duro, setacciata, amalgamata e impastata con le uova a mano, fino a che questa assumesse una consistenza secca nelle mani. In pratica, la pasta può cominciare a considerarsi pronta quando si stacca dalle mani.

In un momento successivo, utilizzando una macchinetta, la pasta è stata ridotta in sfoglie sempre più sottili, e poi tagliata a mano (ecco perchè si parla di maltagliati). Nel frattempo è stata preparata anche la salsa, in due diverse versioni. Una con porcini in bianco (aglio, olio extra vergine, funghi porcini) e l’altra con funghi champignon con aggiunta di salsa di pomodoro.

La pasta realizzata è stata cotta per pochi minuti, in acqua portata prima ad ebillizione e aggiunta di sale marino grosso. Scolata poi in uno scolapasta è stata aggiunta nei due diversi tegami dove aveva cotto la salsa. E successivamente lasciata un po’ mantecare con il sugo e portata in tavola.

In questa seconda esperienza ho notato una partecipazione ancora maggiore e una particolare soddisfazione nella preparazione della pasta. Un maggior coinvolgimento si é visto anche da parte delle ragazze. E al momento della degustazione, c’è stato un notevole apprezzamento della qualità e del sapore. Soprattutto forse della morbidezza e qualità della pasta fatta in casa, rispetto a quella acquistata già pronta.

Io stesso sono rimasto molto contento di questo corso, soddisfatto di aver passato dei momenti piacevoli. Dei quali ringrazio tutte le partecipanti.

Finland TI activities: Make up & Health course for Mothers and Daughters

Another True Interaction Project Course took place at Sastamalan Opisto (Sastamala Community College): Make-up course for mothers and daughters.

The course instructor was a Sastamala college teacher, a dance teacher and a beautician Mrs Marianne Laitala. This course was one of a series of Sastamala college courses for mothers and daughters between 13-18 years. During the course both the mother and the daughter had a chance to test what kind of make-up would suit them best. The course was specifically aimed at young daughters, who are just starting to do make-up. One aim of the course was to increase mother-daughter interaction and learning from each other.

Teacher's comments from the course:

"Working together in pairs liberated rethinking everyday life and this time in a completely new area [doing make-up]. The daughters saw her mother as a woman - and not as the domina in the family."
"... Also, the mothers learned to see to the future womanhood of her daughter => adoption process to acceptance started."

Finland TI activities: Photography Course II for Mothers and Daughters

The second True Interaction Mother-Daughter Photography course was held 16.9.-14.10.2010 (15 lessons) with four mother-daughter pairs participating.

Course Description: The course is designed for mothers and adolescent daughters. We study the use of digital cameras, imaging technology and also image and photo processing. The photos taken on this course will be published in project dissemination.

Course Goal: The course aims to increase mutual understanding and respect between a mother and her daugher as well as learning from each other through a shared activity.

The two web album photos are all taken by the course participants themselves.

Teacher's observations during the course (Teacher Mr Ilari Mehtonen):

"The liberation of social restrictions culminated in the portraiture photos. No unfiltered instructions of taking the photos or being photographed were saved from either side. The motherhood of mothers and the puberty of daughters was realized in action - in a positive spirit. A lot can be seen in the photos, even though time was very limited. All this artwork - this footage material - is designed and taken by the the course participants themselves.The common photography projects according to a certain theme directed to communicate and reflect through images and oral expression - perhaps some of those things being out of discussion in everyday life.”

Here are some verbal reflections on the motives of the images by the participants:

"I like my mother's ears because she listens."

"I like my daughter's toes because they are curved in the same way as mine. That always makes me remember to think that she is my daughter."

"I like my daughter when she is doing her homework."

"I like it when she plays music."

“During the course we thought of and discussed the elements of a good photograph and studied the technical principles of a camera as an automated device. We analyzed the theme photos and tested the effect of image processing to the photos taken. Two out of the four pairs bought new camera equipment as the course went along - the other two said that they will be acquiring new optics as a result of the discussions during the course. This spare time activity bringing the mother and the daughter closer together therefore continues in time and deepends."

Lithuanian “True Interaction” learners group of Mothers and Daughters assembled to Panevezys District Teachers Education Center in September following the work plan of partnership and the group work plan that was done just after joining the partnership in May.

This time the aim of the activities was to exchange the ideas between mothers and daughters of their understanding about the beauty of a woman and a girl. A professional hairdresser/stylist Mrs. Loreta, as an expert, was invited to give some professional advice to girls and their mothers and to make the talk more constructive.

Participants of the activities have learned about the proper care of the hair in order it always look good and natural, about the new hair styles tendencies this season and other tips how to look attractive and more confident.

Also, girls and mothers discussed separately about the Daughter’s and Mother’s Manner Code. They agreed to send the prompts for the final code list to local project coordinator by mail.

The results of the initial test that was done in Lithuania in June was presented in the meetings, too.

October meetings will be dedicated to understanding of a body language, to test the personal bubble, to feel the joy of dance and movement.

Romania-Seminar:The biological structure of adolescent girls and the effects of this period to the socialization

The seminar took held in Romania during the meeting with the project's partners ( 19.09.2010). It has been realised with the NGO "Together on the life way"
Problems that appear during the adolescence period have been emphasise within the seminar. the audience interest has been stirred up with sequence from a film presenting young people's opinion and the problems they are facing.
The school psichologist presented the results of the interpretation of the questionaires having as a theme the communication parent - adolescent regarding sexuality. The research has as objective the identification of the reasons making mothers and daughters not to be able to communicate abou sex, and also the communication barriers, both from the mother and daughters perspective.
In the end the Romanian students and their mothers exchanged ideas with mothers from Italy, Lithuania and Turkey.

The fourth meeting was held in the city of Onesti (birthplace of the gymnast Nadia Komanesci).

The project has already come to Ecuador and at this meeting we agreed the new activities we’ll perform during 2010-2011. Some of them will be individual, and others joint between two or more partners.

CSI •F Enseñanza Madrid is going to organize a training seminar on health issues aimed at adolescents in the last phase of 2010, and another aimed at teachers who are interested in exploring the behavior of adolescents from an open society globalized as ours.

Along with Lithuania, we’ll generate a Decalogue of activities between mothers and their teenage daughters who could be regarded as exemplifying and at the same time, be current and attractive to all parties. At the end of the day, even entering in 2011 and with the mother-daughter relations so different for just 10 years ago, the deep love that professes a mother for her daughter has not changed much, nor feelings of a daughter to whom she gave life and care can be so indifferent.

In another way, the host school ("Petru Poni" Technical College) was our reference for the visit. There were organized conferences, partner meetings, photo shoots ... Carmen Epure, as project coordinator at the school, was a formidable host, along with her husband, Constantin, who in turn was built in the main pleasant surprise as continued support and tirelessly to the project.

A recreational visit we had prepared was Brad Castle (Dracula Castle), which lasted a whole day roundtrip coach. However, in the minds of readers and moviegoers of works related to the bloodthirsty Count, it was a must to complete the imagery of feelings of fear and terror each of us have inside the library of our minds, and we keep it jealously.

Shared experiences, feelings, we had occasion to talk, laugh, eat and dinner together ... and even dancing. I remember with special affection dances we shared in one night which I would define as ... magic. The waltz put the finishing touch to a dinner nostalgic, full of unforgettable memories and enduring.

Esta tercera reunión ha tenido lugar en una pequeña ciudad del interior, aunque rodeada por enormes lagos de agua helada, llamada Vammala y perteneciente a la región de Sastamala. Tampere es la ciudad de referencia; dista unos 80 kilómetros en dirección a Helsinki. Toda la zona está rodeada de espesos y frondosos bosques de abetos en los que habitan animales autóctonos como los renos, alces, zorros, linces…

Tampere cuenta con un aeropuerto de tipo local al que suelen volar algunas líneas aéreas de las de “bajo coste” como Ryan Air (desde Málaga). No obstante, nosotros volamos vía Frankfurt hasta Helsinki y luego tomamos un tren hasta Tampere; desde allí otro hasta Vammala. En total, unas tres horas y media de tren más otras siete de avión. ¡Todo el día viajando!

En esta reunión presentábamos por países los resultados de los cuestionarios realizados a madres e hijas adolescentes, así como las actividades localmente realizadas por cada socio, acordes con las líneas maestras que se trazaron en las anteriores reuniones. Pueden verse y descargarse los gráficos resultantes de las encuestas en España (Madrid) a través de los siguientes enlaces:

Tuvimos ocasión de visitar varios centros escolares de enseñanza no universitaria acompañados por nuestros colegas y socios de proyecto en Vammala, y asimismo con los demás socios a los que también se ha incorporado Lituania recientemente. Nos sorprendió a todos el orden, el bajo ratio de alumnos por clase, el estupendo comportamiento de éstos dentro y fuera del centro, las instalaciones perfectamente conservadas y presentables en todos los aspectos… En fin, ¿qué se puede decir del mejor sistema educativo del mundo? Nos encantó. A pesar de todo, no vi nada extraordinariamente diferente entre la teoría de su sistema educativo y el nuestro. Incluso llegué a pensar que el sistema español podía estar al mismo nivel que el finlandés, puesto que teóricamente es tan completo, o más que el suyo. Dos variables me llamaron mucho la atención tras preguntar por ellas directamente a varios profesores. En mi opinión, son la clave que les diferencia de nuestro sistema y la que les hace tremendamente efectivos en los resultados: la aplicación práctica de su sistema educativo se basa en el RESPETO AL PROFESOR y en la DISCIPLINA. Ahí es dónde radican las mayores diferencias con el nuestro. El resto de variables son de mucho menor calado. Por ejemplo, el ratio de alumnos. Habrá quién afirme que aquí estamos en ratios de 35 alumnos por clase, lo que comparado con el de los finlandeses (de 12 a 20) daría una explicación de nuestro fracaso escolar. Sin embargo, yo soy de la creencia de que si su ratio aumentara a los 35, los alumnos tendrían el mismo comportamiento impecable. Es una cuestión de respeto al profesor y de disciplina (y en consecuencia, de educación). Así me lo comentaron los profesores y así les creí.

Otras cuestiones como la inversión en enseñanza, que obviamente es bastante más alta que en España, Bachillerato de dos o tres años, pizarras digitales (curiosamente las tienen pero predomina a fecha de hoy la enseñanza basada en la tiza y pizarra tradicionales), horarios, días lectivos… Creo que son importantes, pero que de ninguna manera son indispensables en el ejemplar funcionamiento del sistema educativo finlandés. Si debemos mirar hacia una referencia de mejora de nuestro sistema, miremos hacia estas dos variables principales, que son las que destacan por encima de cualesquiera otras en todos los países que ocupan las primeras posiciones del ranking de sistemas educativos en el mundo. Todos ellos tienen un denominador común (RESPETO AL PROFESOR y DISCIPLINA), al igual que lo tienen los que están en las peores posiciones, como España, Uganda…, en la falta de esas dos variables.

The third meeting took place in a small provincial town, but surrounded by huge lakes of water ice, called Vammala and belonging to the region of Sastamala. Tampere is the reference city, lies some 80 kilometers towards Helsinki. The whole area is surrounded by thick, lush pine forests in which they live native animals such as reindeer, elk, foxes, lynx ...

Tampere airport has a local guy who usually fly some airlines of "low cost" as Ryan Air (from Málaga). However, we flew to Helsinki via Frankfurt and then took a train to Tampere, from where another until Vammala. In total, about three hours of train and seven other by aircraft. All day traveling!

At this meeting we presented the results of country questionnaires made to mothers and teenage daughters, and local activities by each partner, in accordance with the guidelines that were outlined in previous meetings. We had the opportunity to visit several schools in non-university education accompanied by our colleagues and partners from Vammala project, and also with the other partners (Lithuania has also joined recently). Surprised us all order, the low ratio of students per class, the great performance of these inside and outside the center, the facilities well maintained and presentable at all aspects ... So what can you say about the best education system in the world? We love it.

Nevertheless, I saw nothing remarkably different between the theory of this educational system and ours. I even think that the Spanish could be at the same level than the Finnish, as theoretically so complete. Two variables caught my attention after asking for them directly to several teachers. In my opinion, they are the key that differentiates them from our system and that makes them extremely effective in the results: the practical application of their education system is based on respect for the teacher and discipline. That's where the biggest differences with ours are. All other variables are much more minor. For example, the ratio of pupils. Who will claim that here we are in ratios of 35 students per class, which compared with that of the Finns (12 to 20) would give an explanation of our failure in school. However, I am of the belief that if the ratio increased to 35 in Finland, students have the same impeccable behavior. It is a matter of respect for the teacher and discipline (and hence of education). So teachers commented to me and so I believed them.

Other issues such as investment in education, which is obviously much higher than in Spain, Bachelor of two or three years, whiteboard (but curiously have dominated to date based teaching traditional chalk and blackboard), schedules, school days ... I think they are important but by no means indispensable to the exemplary work of Finnish education. If we look at a reference for improving our system, we have to look at these two main variables, which are those that stand out above any other in all the countries that occupy the top positions in the ranking of educational systems in the world (PISA). They all have a common denominator (respect for the teacher and discipline), as well as have those in the lowest positions, such as Spain, Uganda ... in the absence of these two variables.

2nd PARTNERS MEETING. (Vienne, March 23 - 28, 2010)

In a previous article (DEBATE PROFESIONAL No. 193, November 2009) we presented the educational project of True Interaction Learning Partnerships, framed in the Grundtvig (Adult Education) Lifelong Learning Programme (LLP. European Commission).

At that time we held the first meeting of partners in a city of Turkey (Tosya), hosted by the project coordinator. Guidelines were drawn up by which the project was to develop and assigned specific tasks to members. The main commitment was the creation of a pretest for mothers and teenage daughters to know what were the concerns of both at that age so difficult, that many girls experience physical and mental changes. On the other hand, we wanted to know how it was affecting the current Information Society in the behavior of adolescents.

CSI•F Enseñanza Madrid believes that online access to those questionnaires would greatly facilitate the task to both, managers and questioned, so that in both cases it was accessed through a link through any Internet browser. We requested the collaboration of several Secondary schools and were collecting the data. The results of the pre-test made it possible the definitive test, which has been the main topic at the second meeting of partners, which was held in Vienna (Austria), in March 23 to 28, 2010.

By Romanian partners, Turks and particularly Finns participated in this meeting many mothers with their young daughters (aged 14 to 18), which greatly enriched the contents of the live meeting to express their feelings and confirm many of the responses that had gathered in the questionnaires of the different countries participating in the project (Austria, Spain, Finland, Italy, Lithuania, Roma

nia and Turkey).

In these days of meetings there was time for all (inter alia because of a business day, the rest are public holidays and weekends). We all appreciated the monumental Vienna, visits to great museums, palaces, walks across streets where history has been immortalized in the typical Viennese coffee, the best works of artists of the breakaway current at early twentieth century, Gustav Klimt (The Kiss) and Egon Schiele ...

In short, a very productive and enjoyable meeting in an eternal city that captivates and keeps for itself the memories of these who visit her, forcing them to return to reclaim and re-experience feelings that only in such a city can be found.

We also agreed to develop additional questionnaires assessing the progress of the project, which will hopefully fill in the mother-daughter participants in the above. In this way we hope to get a clear view on the road traveled so far and also appreciate some of the products already developed in the project, as are the various training courses for mothers, daughters and teachers that have been made, or underway, by all partners.

SEGUNDA REUNIÓN DE SOCIOS

En un anterior artículo (DEBATE PROFESIONAL Nº 193, noviembre 2009) presentábamos el proyecto educativo de Asociaciones de Aprendizaje True Interaction, enmarcado en la acción Grundtvig (Educación de Personas Adultas) del Programa de Aprendizaje Permanente (Lifelong Learning Programme. Comisión Europea).

En aquella ocasión habíamos realizado la primera reunión de socios en una ciudad de Turquía (Tosya), siendo el anfitrión el coordinador del proyecto. Se trazaron las líneas maestras por las que el proyecto iba a desarrollarse y se asignaron tareas específicas a los socios. El principal compromiso fue la realización de un PRETEST a madres e hijas adolescentes para conocer cuáles eran las inquietudes de ambas en esa edad tan difícil en la que experimentan las chicas tantos cambios físicos y mentales. Por otro lado, queríamos conocer de qué forma estaba afectando la Sociedad de la Información actual en el comportamiento de las adolescentes.

En CSI•F Enseñanza Madrid consideramos que el acceso “online” a los citados cuestionarios facilitaría mucho la tarea tanto a cuestionados como a gestores, por lo que en los dos casos se pudo acceder a ellos a través de un enlace mediante cualquier navegador de Internet. Se pidió la colaboración de varios centros de Secundaria y se fueron recogiendo los datos correspondientes. Los resultados del PRETEST permitieron confeccionar el TEST definitivo, que ha sido el principal tema tratado en la segunda reunión de socios que ha tenido lugar en Viena (Austria), del 23 al 28 de marzo de 2010.

Por parte de los socios rumanos, turcos y especialmente finlandeses participaron en esta reunión bastantes madres con sus hijas adolescentes (de entre 14 a 18 años), lo que enriqueció enormemente los contenidos de la reunión al expresar en directo sus sensaciones y confirmar muchas de las respuestas que habíamos recopilado en los cuestionarios de los diferentes países participantes en el proyecto (Austria, España, Finlandia, Italia, Lituania, Rumania y Turquía).

En esos días de reunión hubo tiempo para todo (entre otras cosas porque a parte de algún día laboral, el resto son festivos y fines de semana). Pudimos disfrutar de la monumental Viena, de visitas a excelentes museos, palacios, paseos por calles en las que la Historia ha quedado inmortalizada para siempre, de los típicos cafés vieneses, de las mejores obras de pintores de la corriente secesionista a primeros del siglo XX como Gustav Klimt (El Beso) o Egon Schiele…

En fin, una reunión muy productiva y amena en una ciudad eterna, que cautiva y que guarda para sí misma los recuerdos de los que la visitan, forzándoles a volver para recuperarlos y de nuevo experimentar sensaciones que sólo en una ciudad así se pueden hallar.

También acordamos elaborar otros cuestionarios de evaluación de la marcha del proyecto, que esperamos que cumplimenten las madres-hijas participantes en los anteriores. De esta manera esperamos obtener una visión clara sobre el camino recorrido hasta ahora y que, además, valoren algunos de los productos ya elaborados en el proyecto, como son los diferentes cursos de formación a madres-hijas y profesorado que se han realizado, o que están en proceso, por parte de todos los socios.

CSI·F Enseñanza Madrid filed his candidacy in the last call for European Educational Programmes (2009-2010) in the action of Grundtvig Learning Partnerships, resulting selected.

In this partnership there are institutions from Austria, Finland, Italy, Lithuania, Spain, Romania and Turkey, acting this last as general coordinator of the project.

The project will run for two years and is based on social research specifically aimed at detecting and correcting problems in the relationship between teen-age youth (the survey will cover ages from 14 to 16 years) with parents. However, will focus primarily on the role that mothers today play in the education of their teenage daughters and interactions that occur in this relationship.

The project entitled ADOLESCENCE AND MOTHER-DAUGHTER INTERACTION, being English the working language of the Association. The objectives set at the first meeting of partners held in Tosya (Turkey) between 1 and 6 October 2009 have allowed us to realize the following:

1. Design of a pre-questionnaire to collect and unify the different characteristics of the mother-daughter in each of the participating countries, so that it is valid to satisfy all the questions that occur in these seven very different societies.

2. Following the consensus of all partners, design of the final questionnaire led to mothers, and another one for girls (different questionnaires), but both must fill them out separately and anonymously.

3. In the case of CSI•F Enseñanza Madrid, our stewards will be responsible for bringing the printed questionnaires to secondary schools chosen at random, to ask for help in distribution to a number between 50 and 100 students and to send the questionnaires to their homes to be completed by their mothers and then return to the center.

4. From January 2010, after the results subjected to all kinds of statistical analysis allow us to develop reasoning and argumentation on the possible causes of the problems encountered, training courses for adults will be designed aimed at achieving a better and more empathy in the relationship with their adolescent daughters.

5. Implementation of the courses, completion and participant evaluation questionnaires. Statistical analysis of the views of participants and, in general, the results. Proposals for improvement.

6. Design of new courses for teacher training to respond to (analyzed the sensitivity and demand of the girls and their mothers) to the concerns of his students at a stage where they feel particularly confused by the physical changes experienced by and particularly misunderstood in the absence of sufficient trust relationship with their mothers (more and more pressing problem due to work outside the home of the parents). The risk to learn from the advice of other friends or friends with no family ties makes the staff, through training previously received, becomes a key figure to identify, guide and steer in the right way many of these problems that occur in most teenagers.

The final product will be a printed publication in English (and in all official languages of the partners), with research data on each of the countries participating in the project, the definition of the previous problems which led to this research and recommendations for action in each case so as to strengthen the interaction between mother and daughter making it more authentic.

Similarly, it will create a Web page where you can find all necessary information for understanding the method used and conclusions, together with the necessary links in which expand or supplement the information.

Finally, published teacher training courses to prepare them in the proper guidance to their students to improve the mother-teenage daughter.

On February 6, 2010 has been organized in the Pale Ale hall (Angel Munoz St. 17 28045 Madrid) an activity framed in the Grundtvig project "Adolescence and mother-daughter interaction".

The meeting involved several families: mothers with their young daughters between 14 and 18, the coordinator of the Grundtvig Action at the DGMCE (Regional Ministry of Education, Community of Madrid) Gema Pacho and several people involved in the development of the project by the Spanish partner CSI·F Teaching Madrid. The target of the event, in charge of this last institution, has been to explain the details of the project, the development of the finalquestionnaires presented at the meeting, and working with participants in developing a personal introduction through a video blog which has been gathering comments and feelings of each of the speakers.

The images that accompany this review reflect the amenity of the meeting and the active participation of attendees. It was possible to record multiple entries in the videoblog, although the weak signal of connection to the Internet has not allowed to collect all the encouragement the participants had to record their collaborations. However, it has given the necessary instructions to complete the activity from their homes or from anywhere with the right access to Internet.

CSI·F Enseñanza Madrid thanked all the participants in the meeting their presence and invites them to contribute to the development of this social research project whose objective is to analyze particular current relationships between mother-teenage daughter to develop strategies that optimize them, and whose overall objective is to contribute to the construction of Europe through the development of citizenship, working with the new generation that will soon take the helm and will manage the destiny of this global society in which we are immersed.

Within the approved European Union Lifelong Learning Grundtvig Partnership Programme which is being implemented, mothers together with their daughters displayed their products they prepared in an ornamentation course in which they have been attending at weekends since December 26, 2009. In a short time of three weeks, daughters and their mothers had a chance to exhibit their works at Tosya Public Education Center and Evening Art School. They also expressed that they would like to join many activities throughout this project. Thanks to the project, mothers and daughters were pleased to be able to do something together once again.

Mothers and daughters got together on 2 January 2010 to make ornamentation design. The purpose of the activity was to form good relationship between mothers and daughters. In this way, different groups doing the same activity had different experiences. A product was supposed to come out after the activity was carried out. These products will be on display, afterwards. The expectations and worries of the mothers and daughters were written on papers and put on the wall.
Besides, by painting the sheet on the wall freely, the mothers and daughters made group works. Then, mothers and daughters were separated into two rooms and surveys prepared by the participants of the other countries were implemented to these groups.

The First True Interaction Course from Finland

The first True Interaction course finished successfully on December the 2nd. During this workshop session the mothers and daughters filled in separate questionnaires that will be used to carry out a small research on mother-daughter relationships.

Turkish Step Of The Meetings Has Just Finished

“True Interaction” Project kick-off meeting ended up. And the partcipants left Turkey. For the meetings held by 5 different countries, the coordinator was Turkey. During the very hard but exciting meetings the roles of each parther was decided. Apart from the roles of each country, mobility dates were decided too. The mobility dates will be as follows; Austria: 23-28 March of 2010, Finland: June 2010, Romania October 2010, Italia: February 2010, Spain: May 2011

Till March, each participant country is to prepare mother-daughter surveys according to their needs and send them to Finland. Kari Kotiranta, who is a trainer and psychologist at Open University, will organise the survey questions and send them to each partner to be used. And the partners will apply these questineers to 25-50 mother-daughter group. then they will hold a conference in their own country according to the results of these questineers. Every participant country will bparticipate to the meeting in Vienna with the reports of the studies done.The partners and the institutions partcipated to the kick-off meeting in Turkey are as follows:

Cultural Visits

Ilari Mehtönen who was participated to the project from Sastamala College in Finland said that Tosya had everything necessary for a photographer.

A sightseeing tour was organised by Tosya Adult Education Center in order to let them see the historical, cultural beauties of Tosya. Ilari, who took so many photos during the tour, said that he was so happy to be in Tosya and met so many intersting and kind people there. Participants saw Hıdırlık Hill, Blacksmith Bazaar, Abdurrahman Meraşi Mosque, and Ottoman Park respectively.
